Hi everybody I have a 2009 focus 2.0 tdci 136bhp that has a couple of issues. for a couple of months now I've been getting engine malfunction every other day or so and the engine just cuts out then starts again a couple of mins later but by the time i get the code reader on it the codes are cleared. yesterday its starting then cutting out about 2 mins later, this time i got some codes
We also swapped with other nearby relays. Issue remained. 4) We jumped pin #30 to pin #87 and the starter cranked each and every time - which eliminates anything being wrong with starter connection. 5) Used test light on pin #86, which illuminated every time the ignition key was turned to start position.
Unfortunately a bad TCM can also cause this, disconnect battery, disconnect all TCM and clutch actuators connectors, clean, restore, etc. Anytime you disconnect battery, do BMS reset. Procedure must be carried out within 10 seconds: 1. Switch ignition on (engine off) 2. Pull and release high beam 5 times.
Same thing happened to me - start button would very often not start the car on the first few attemps. Sometimes it took forever. I brought car into Ford for this issue and a vibration issue. They ordered a new start button which they thought was faulty, but also installed a new TCM to try and fix the vibration.
A friend who worked at a Ford dealer said that letting the fuel get really low causes the fuel pump to overheat because the fuel cools the pump inside the gas tank. If you ever run out of fuel or let it get very low, you can damage the fuel pump. Have the fuel pressure tested and if it is low, then it is the fuel pump.

KXFP. The easiest way to check the IAC , is to turn on the ac. When the compressor clutch. Engages the idle should increase. And vice a versa when disengaged. EDIT: unless it is stuck on high idle like you said all the time. Then clean or replace it

Is the intermittent starting problem in Ford F150 related to the auto start-stop feature not working? If youāre facing this issue, you might be wondering if thereās a ford f150 starting problem solution. The auto start-stop feature, when malfunctioning, can lead to starting problems in some cases.
If the engine is hard to start when cold, try plugging in the block heater at night. You can also cycle the glow plugs (pre heaters) a few times. Sometimes you can open the throttle a very little bit and it will remove some pressure on the fuel rail and get a small amount of fuel in the cylinders.
