MAFs are quite delicate, they're easily broken by cleaning if you're a bit heavy handed but you're welcome to try it. I'd recommend replacement if it's definitely not reading rightbut I was lucky and found a genuine new one on eBay for £30 for mine lol. Don't bother with aftermarket MAFs, they never work properly.
Hi I have a 2013 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi titanium and I have the following problem: I am after oil change. From this oil change, after every first start at the morning (cold engine) approx. 30 seconds later I got yellow "Engine malfunction service now" message and the power is decrease.
Posted October 27, 2013. Problem with the ABS self test on Mk2's. First time you hit 12mph after you first start the car the ABS will self test (same time as the seat belt alarm goes off).It is quite common this will be accompanied by a noticeable clunk and sometimes a rather scary grinding noise.

hello again! After the write, sucefully!! , and erased all DTC's, still have the same errors (with ECU connected to EGR) and the car still in limp mode!: P1412 - EGR Valve Frozen. P0490 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Circuit High. P042F - EGR Control Stuck Closed.
E8el4J. The exhaust ports weren't an issue on the 16v 1.6 TDCI, it would only have been the 8v which was fitted to the Focus from 2011making yours one of the early ones. If you just want to check and clear codes with Forscan, a bluetooth dongle with a smart phone or tablet is fine and will be less hassle than a wired connection and laptop.
I have this 1.6 TDCI EDC16C34 that come to me from other garage with a strange fuel pressure issue. on the car they replaced: fuel filter FP regulator FP sensor I also replaced FP sensor wiring just rule out a possible wiring issue. doing some tests I found that on cold engine the FP vs rpm is ok but as soon as the engine warm up the FP is all over the place.
Hi, Thanks for your reply. My previous car was a Diesel also Focus 2006 1.6 TDCI LX 90bhp 5dr.
